About Us

The Centennial Band was established in 2003 with the opening of Centennial High School. The band is under the direction of Mr. Tim Linley, Ms. Kelly Wykoff and Ms. Michelle Meneses. The Percussion Department is under the direction of Mr. Chad S. Wallace. The Guard is directed by Mr. Brian Greenleaf. The Centennial Band Cluster includes Clark Middle School and Wester Middle School.

The Centennial Band program is divided into several groups: Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Centennial Percussion Group (CPG), Drumline, Color Guard and Winter Guard. You can read more about these groups by selecting them from the menu on the left.

In the Fall, all of the various parts of the Centennial Band combine to create the Centennial High School Marching Band, which performs at all varsity football games, marching contests and community events.

Since its establishment in 2003, the Centennial Band has been pursuing excellence in all that it undertakes. The Centennial Band has been awarded the prestigious UIL Sweepstakes Award (superior ratings in Marching, Concert and Sight Reading) for the past seven consecutive years, since the school's opening. Additionally, the Centennial Band has been named Grand Champion at several national concert festivals including the Capital Music Festival in Washington DC and the Elitch Gardens Music Festival in Denver Colorado. In the Texas circuit, the Centennial Band is a former Runner Up at the TMEA Honor Band contest in addition to winning a spot in the prestigious UIL State Marching Contest in 2007. The Centennial Jazz Ensemble is regularly selected as an "Outstanding Ensemble" at regional Jazz Contests. The Centennial Winter Guard has been named the North Texas Colorguard Association Class Champion in its division in 2006, 2007 and 2010. The Centennial Band operates under the ideal: Excellence In Everything.
