Hello Titan Band and Color Guard Families!
CONGRATULATIONS to the Mighty Titan Band & Color Guard for making Finals and placing 9th (out of 24) at Saturday’s Don Hanna Marching competition. We are thankful to all the friends and family who came to cheer, and especially the parent volunteers who put in a 12+ hour day in very hot weather. We are at the halfway mark in competition season. Let’s keep our energy going to finish strong at UIL Region (October 19th) and UIL Area (October 26th)
CRITICAL message to all families:
Participating in Band and Color Guard are commitments for both the students and the families. However, I promise that your student is gaining tremendous experiences and benefits that will help them stand out and be successful for the rest of their lives. However, our program DOES NOT RUN WITHOUT YOU. We have been extremely short of volunteers these last few weeks to help with events and participate in critical Fundraising. I strongly encourage you to sign-up TONIGHT for at least one of the following opportunities. Signup Genius links are available on each Event Card (under Schedule & Tickets). 1) Oct 17th Football Game – Need Chaperones and Concessions (adults and students with Food Handlers permit)
2) Oct 19th – FC Dallas Concessions 5pm – 10pm (must be 18+)
3) Newly added Oct 26th – UIL Area, need chaperones and dinner crew (note – times are best Estimates pending final schedule after UIL Region)
4) Dec 17th and Jan 6th Concessions for College Football games at Toyota Stadium (must be 18+)
*Note - If we do not have enough volunteers for Concessions, FC Dallas Games and College Football games, we will *forfeit at least three-thousand dollars per event in potential fundraising revenue. ***
Schedule this week:
Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday: After school practice 4:45pm – 7:15pm
Thursday: Morning Practice 7-8:30AM & 7pm Football Game at the STAR (Away vs. Lebanon Trail)
Friday: No School – enjoy the long weekend and get some rest
Mark Your calendars (additional details communicated as we get closer):
· Wednesday October 16th – Spirit Night at Chipotle
· Saturday October 19th – UIL Region (short competition to qualify for Area)
· Saturday October 29th – Special sendoff to UIL Area. Parents will decorate the Band, Color Guard and Percussion rooms. Students will have a “mini parade” on their way to load buses (at CHS). Make your posters now, but please KEEP THIS A SECRET from your student.
